How did you start your AR journey?
I started working with filters from Instagram when they finished their beta in August 2019. I had my old Windows laptop at that moment so it was a little quest for me, but I’m really happy that I decided to try it! I learned about filters because I worked as a marketer in social networks and immediately decided to try them. I was sure that it was mine! A combination of creativity + marketing.
What Is AR for you?
For me, AR is a way to express my feelings through art, a chance to highlight brand values and help it stand out from the competition.
When did you realize that you had reached a turning point in successfully creating augmented reality?
I think when I started cooperating with brands and receiving applications without looking for clients. What helped me: a lot of work, self-promotion, cooperation on sociability.
There are many skills needed to create a professional AR project, which of them is a must, and which of them helps you the most?
In my opinion, it is necessary to be able to use graphic programs and to know development programs. Additionally, less mandatory at the start are 3D and programming, because you can always cooperate with other developers.
How would you describe your work, do you have a specific style?
I don’t think I have a specific direction. Because I like to implement completely different projects for both brands and audiences. I like to brainstorm and create concepts at the client’s request. I like to make it unique.
What or who is your inspiration?
Inspiration part it’s a very important part of all this way because you need to generate content all the time. I get a lot of inspiration from movies because I’m a big movie fan! Especially Marvel’s. Also, I’m trying to see a lot of different content on Instagram, TikTok, and Pinterest. I would recommend being interested in what is happening in the world, watching a lot of different content, and allocating time for creativity.
Tell me about the projects you’re most proud of. What makes them special?
The main project, which I am very proud of, I created for a Hollywood star whom I really admire. I cannot name this project, because it is under the NDA, but it is what motivates me every day and makes me proud of myself. Also, I am very pleased with the trust of such brands as AMC, Unicef, and others. In general, the trust of all customers. I am proud of the results of my work, I am grateful to people for their trust and I am very pleased that they are satisfied with the result and come back to me again.
Describe your working process. Do you follow the work spontaneously or do you have a plan that you follow?
I always have a plan! I’m a planning person. I am sure that without a structure there will be no quality result. Therefore: concept – creation – coordination – proper launch.
How do you deal with clients’ feedback?
This is very important for any specialist! Feedback should be available and requested if your client has not provided it. This is your confirmation of work, your motivation, and your motivation for other clients to work with you.
What is your dream in terms of AR creation?
I want to work with a very big brand without a confidentiality contract. Also, I want to increase the development studio and for as many brands as possible to understand the full potential of this tool
What is your definition of Metaverse?
I think that these are opportunities to move into an interesting future, expansion of communication and advertising opportunities. Currently, we see technical development, but it is difficult to look far because everything changes a lot every day.
