Meet Maria, our talented creator from Mexico, who is the next guest on the AR Creator’s journey. 💜 Maria is inquisitive and tech agnostic. She enjoys exploring new creative avenues and is a lifelong learner.
Maria enjoys combining her design, animation, 3D modeling, and magic dust skills to create her own creations. We are happy to share her experience with you 👇
How did you start your AR journey?
I started as an animator, and as a curious person, I discovered AR when I wanted to show my work beyond reality and I love the way to take my art and share it with the community across the world.
What Is AR for you?
The perfect canvas to share and connect with your audience without being there and take them to have a great time on social media sharing with their families in a fun and beautiful way.
When did you realize that you had reached a turning point in successfully creating augmented reality?
It was in two different ways, the first one was when I realized I could be rentable for the company I was working for at that time, and the second one was when I discover augmented reality as a new way to share my art.
There are many skills needed to create a professional AR project, which of them is a must, and which of them helps you the most?
Mainly, a correct sense of space, curiosity, patience, and overall passion for finding new challenges.
How would you describe your work, do you have a specific style?
My professional work it’s chameleonic, I love to fit with the client’s needs. Respect my art, I always looking to make it different to find and learn new paths.
What or who is your inspiration? what would be your advice for other creators?
I’m Mexican and I love to find inspiration wherever I go, in the food, in the tradition, in the people around me, and on the other hand in some sci-fi or gaming characters, Riot is my big inspiration, they have everything on their visual communication.
Describe your working process. Do you follow the work spontaneously or do you have a plan that you follow?
Both, in fact for my client’s projects I like to follow an order, since taking the brief, starting with the creative journey, assets design, Programmation, changes, and uploading the file. But for my personal projects, I love to be free in the creation process, sometimes it changes all at the last minute.
How do you deal with clients’ feedback?
I have been fortunate to have understanding clients who make only the necessary comments to achieve a better result as a whole.
What is your dream in terms of AR creation?
That all people can experience it, it is complex that people have the possibility of having a team that supports the technology.
What is your definition of Metaverse?
A magic way to bring humans closer across the world, but unfortunately far from their people. I hope the next generations use this as a tool where they could learn, share and be in many places without the need to be there physically. In the meantime, I love to have the opportunity to be part of this digital revolution.
