How did you start your AR journey? How did you discover Augmented Reality? What motivated you to start the creation of AR?
My AR journey started in 2020. That time I first saw the artists creating face effects for Instagram. I decided to give it a try and loved it. After making several face effects I thought about gaining some skills needed for AR. All effects are unique and require different knowledge. I focused on learning 3D modeling and texturing. After gaining more knowledge I became more confident with AR and since then I`m trying to improve the quality of my works.
What Is AR for you?
AR for me is a way to add some magic and fantasy to the real world.
What or who is your inspiration?
I`m inspired by Sci fi, classical music and folk costumes from around the world.
Come up with something about yourself that sets you apart from other creators. (AR direction that you like most, passions… Anything you like and can be used to showcase your individualism)
Every artist is incredibly unique and has a different background. In my works I tend to create effects which can turn the people into cartoon/ sci fi characters.
How would you describe your work, do you have a specific style? direction? Does it change over time?
I think my works revolve around three styles which are sci-fi, fantasy and folk.
When did you realize that you had reached a turning point in successfully creating augmented reality? What helped you with this?
I think I had reached the turning point when there was no need to look up any information on the Internet regarding the creation process but just enjoy the flow. Having created a significant number of effects and always trying something new helped me with learning the steps and shortening the making time.
Tell me about the projects you’re most proud of? What makes them special? What assets were used to build that project?
The works that are located in my effects tab and haven’t been deleted or forgotten to be updated are the effects which I find good enough to be proud of. For most of my works I create 3D objects, textures and sometimes hair, fur or the most challenging for me – custom make up.
Describe your working process. Do you follow the work spontaneously or do you have a plan that you follow?
First I define the main idea and style. Then I look up for the references. At this point I need to determine which assets I’ll need to make, the suitable software for modeling and texturing, and the time needed from start to finish. I always start with modeling 3D objects and then sending them into the AR platform to see if I need to make any adjustments. Then I do the texturing. Lastly I test the effect on the phone and make finishing touches.
How do you deal with clients’ feedback?
It’s always important to get feedback. This way the final result will be satisfactory.
What is your dream in terms of AR creation?
I want to create a fully immersive experience in AR for a concert/ show where the music/ people`s actions can affect the way the show flows.
How immense is the future of AR in your opinion?
AR is going to be more present in marketing and will be a part of our life.
